As discoverers of new antibiotics, Tiny Earth celebrates World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week (WAAW) annually November 18-24. This global campaign is led by the World Health Organization (WHO) to raise awareness and understanding of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
Tiny Earth research provides opportunities for students to engage in authentic research with the goal of discovering new antibiotics in soil bacteria. This mission is a combined effort of instructors, students, and other community members, all working hard to reduce the impact of AMR on our society.
To celebrate World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week (WAAW) and address the antimicrobial resistance (AMR) crisis, Tiny Earth staff has organized several activities.
Now is the time to increase education and action to address the health crisis of AMR. Follow along with the activities of Tiny Earth and the World Health Organization during WAAW.
