Parking

Event attendees are responsible for arranging their own parking.
Campus visitor parking options include:

  • Hourly parking | Available in campus gated lots
  • Daily Permits | Half-day: $9 each | Full-day: $25 each | Allow two weeks for processing!

Recommended lots: Observatory Drive Ramp (Lot 36) is a public parking ramp near Cole Residence Hall. Engineering Drive Ramp (Lot 17), Union South Ramp (Lot 80), and University Ave Ramp (Lot 20) are near the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery (event site). Most public (on- and off-campus) parking lots are searchable on mobile navigation apps such as Google Maps and Apple Maps.

Campus Transportation Tips

UW-Madison is a highly walkable and beautiful campus. For additional transportation, try the Bcycle ebike rentals, the free campus bus (route 80), or Madison Metro city buses ($2 per ride). While the residence hall is located near the Discovery Building (~15 min walk), please remember to dress for ever-changing Wisconsin weather. Thunderstorms and hot, muggy days are common during summer months! The event site is air conditioned and will be comfortable.

Alternative Lodging

If participants prefer to lodge elsewhere, they are responsible for costs. We recommend the Fluno Center, which is the campus conference center. Other great options include Hampton Inn, Graduate Hotel, or Doubletree Hotel. They are all a 10-15 min walk from the conference site and reasonably priced.
