Varun Rachakonda recently graduated from Nova Southeastern University in Florida with a major in Biology. Last year, he was given the privilege to present his research project at the Virtual Tiny Earth Symposium in May 2020. The focus of his project was finding novel microorganisms that produce novel antibiotics in the Everglades region of Florida. This upcoming year, Varun will be starting medical school at NSU MD and hopes to continue researching in the field of novel antibiotics. During his free time, Varun likes to watch and play both tennis and basketball, spend time with friends, and watch Netflix.
